   Well Windows 7 is now well and truly upon us with only the big manufacturers trying to get rid of Vista installed machines.

I have installed Win 7 Pro on my own workstation, together with a number of Pro based computers and a few Home Premium ones.

So far everything seems to be very good. The speed is noticeably better than with Vista on all counts. I make the following notes:

1) Start up and shut down is much quicker than Vista.. and probably on a par with Xp

2) Network speed is vastly better than Vista.. and again on a par with Xp

3) The hardware support is much improved, with many of the drivers being downloaded automatically from the manufacturers web sites by default.

So far so good !
